Will there be a season 2?
Or is this a one season only deal? I cannot find any info on a season 2.

shareOf course there will be! With a Star Trek type of ending* how could there not be one?
* Despite impossible odds, the critical event took place in the last few minutes! They found life on Mars!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That means they can now get unlimited funding!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Why more seasons? I thought it was supposed to be a mini series! No more episodes please. :(

Well I sure hope so, I've really gotten into it. And with the obviously huge financial investment and all the elaborate sets they built, I hope they continue for a long time. The longer it goes the more people will become aware of it and start watching.
I wanna know what happens after those people died. Can't leave them there stranded, we gotta know what comes next!
There's really no reason to continue with the series. The whole show was presented as Science Faction (trying to link the current aspects of space travel to the immediate future using facts and a slightly advanced technology).
To continue would push it into the fiction realm. The drama ran it's course. The issues of trying to survive in a hostile environment were conquered.
The disaster and the demand to bring the colonists home being averted with the discovery of life. From that point on, it's just daily survival and research. The only additional topic they could have covered is a child being born on Mars but even that pushes the concept at bit too far.
I doubt there is more too much more to tell.
He who fights and runs away, lives to run away again!
spoilers.....
I was waiting for that worm thing to jump off the microscope slide and attach itself to her face....
We'll have to agree to disagree I guess. I'd love to see more of this, there isn't enough good quality stuff like it on TV these days. I can imagine lots more stories on that station.
shareI didn't think of it that way but I see your point. To continue now really would push it into the realm of fiction. However, the positive of continuing with the series could be just to garner greater interest in the whole Mars project. I think it's important that humans have a noble ambition and common goal to keep things in perspective and to keep humanity out of pettiness and bickering that we so easily fall into. There's nothing bad about dreaming of Mars and so much good that could come from it 😃

part of was already fiction, so to continue it yes would be even more fiction, but they could still throw in some science explanation about how they would actually do this, etc. why not? yes it might be hard to go beyond much more than another 10 episodes without it being mostly fiction but maybe it could just morph into a mostly fiction show with only one or two fact breaks bits.
shareSeason 2 shows the crowd-funded effort to colonize Mars. This team had scrap resources, but smarter people. They set up camp on the other side of Valles Marinerus to have a natural barrier between the sites.
Of course -- the two settlements clash over resources anyway. The crowd-fund team created onithopters that can ride the Martian dust storms - the high-tech group has lots of ATVs.
The whole thing plays out kinda like 'After Worlds Collide'
You think it's gonna be peaceful?
If they go the route the Mars trilogy books did, then sure! The next step is terraforming Mars (Green Mars), obviously!
