It's very hard to like his character, Edgar. That may testify to his skills as an actor, because Edgar is a zit on a scrotum. If, as I infer from the posts here, his showbiz background is standup and not acting, he is doing a fine job. It seems to me that IDUH has cast a lot of actual comics in these roles, and I applaud the series for having that kind of verisimilitude and integrity. I think the show deserves a larger audience. I think the show suffers under the misconception that it is a comedy, so viewers come to it with the wrong expectations. The real lives of comics are driven and tormented. I have known real comics. I am one. Do you want to know something? Real comics almost never laugh, not at our own wit, not at our peers'. The highest compliment one real comic can give to another is to say, "That's funny."
