Sweet Christmas movie

I’ve said in other posts that there are four things these kinds of Christmas movies have to do to be successful: Have a good script, the leads must have chemistry, it has to evoke feelings of Christmas, and finally the music score needs to set the proper mood. This movie, while not breaking any new ground, covers all four of these requirements easily. The music choices were especially refreshing, hearing so many songs about the true meaning of Christmas.

Just watched this movie last night and thought it was nice. I also noticed the music was really good. There was a point where they had some background guitar music playing and it was 'Amazing Grace' which I didn't expect. Instead of generic music they used it to really fit with theme of the movie.

I just want across it and decided to check it out. I was very skeptical because it seemed like it would be along the lines of those awful Hallmark Christmas movies. I was prepared to turn it off after five minutes. It ended up being much better than expected though and I enjoyed it.

As a city dweller, there's something attractive about that small-town country life, though I know that the town we see in the film is an idealized place that you won't really find on any map.

I think one thing that really helped this film succeed was keeping the romance restrained and letting that sub-plot be subservient to the main storyline of saving the farm.

I went into the film with very low expectations and it easily exceeded them. I expected some Hallmark-level nonsense and got a film that was better than that.
