Are there any other TV shows like this? Foreign or American?
I liked that this wasn't so sex or violence focused for the sake of including them as shock elements. I also really enjoyed that they didn't focus on the rich or the well to do. It made their struggles more real and relate-able. I just realized how much American tv shows don't really relate to me.
For some reason Black Mirror reminds me of this although it's more like Twilight Zone but several episodes have this style to it. A sci fi film that I thought of in while watching this is called Cypher, so you might check that out.

Equilibrium is another good one if you haven't seen it, same sort of vibe with the so-called "perfect society" and the rebels trying to bring it down.
If you liked the test factor of it then maybe Cube & Exam would be 2 movies you may well enjoy also.
