How did Agatha die????

Okay so just starting and got hooked to this show pretty quickly, despite its many errors in it I still can get hooked on anything if I find the topic to be good enough. Its a great concept but I am not getting unhooked by the many deaths that happen just in season 1. I understood some deaths like the guy who committed suicide, the girl who got shot in the stomach cause her friend betrayed her, but how in the hell did agatha die? Did she just fall over and died after 7 hours of no food? That makes no sense, they dont even explain it, she just gone all of a sudden, and its really bothering me. How did she die??? And why did the rest of the people let the other kids die, along with crushing marco to death??? I cant get over that the whole government was like, thats fine lol, all part of the process. Especially after that people lose the process or whatever that they offer help with grief?

I think they made it very clear that the gas from the corridor test had a devastating and lasting effect on her. She just didn't recover like the agent said she would. I assumed she died from the combination of these side effects with stress and insufficient feeding. They did it to point out that some deaths really are "accidents".
The other candidates actually killed Marco's gang and left him for dead. The "government" doesn't care. To them, if you die during the Process it's because you deserved it. The whole season establishes that the Process isn't, in fact, fair and the 3% aren't "better" people.

I agree with the first reply about the gang getting beat up but was Agata confirmed dead? I thought she passed out because of the effect the gas had on her, and was just unconscious. (I would have thought someone would say something about her dying.)

We never see her again. She died.

You can be eliminated without being dead. It was never confirmed whether she was dead or alive (though if internet memes are to be trusted, no shoes = dead). It was left ambiguous.

Drugs man. The drug

The gas. She never recovered.
