Joana's character was so inconsistent
She kept flipping between this incredibly tough, street smart girl (who's intelligent but refuses to be flashy about it) and this very vulnerable and traumatised woman desperate to escape her crimes. Her early scenes make no sense once you learn about her background. If getting through the Process was her only chance at survival, why was she so flippant in the interviews? Why did she sit back and let the others figure out the crime-scene challenge (only chiming in at the very end)? Why she was so cocky to Rafael about his false registration when she had one herself (unless she simply wanted to be sure of someone she could blackmail)? (And as a matter of fact, why are they the only people who even noticed each other's fake registrations?) Plus, the man at the end who Ezequiel wanted her to kill ... I think it might have made more sense for it to be a stranger in that scenario. I didn't understand her hesitation, there.
It might have been because I didn't think the actor was much cop, but I couldn't get a handle on her at all. I think they overdid her overly-dismissive personality too early on.
