You must work for TBS, because "the future of tv"? - let's not go crazy. Yes, I laughed, but they have not reinvented the wheel here. This is "Meet the Millers" and the original "Vacation" so far, but I've only seen the one episode on YouTube.
I'll give it another 2 to make my decision whether to go the distance on this - the line "I should've absorbed you in utero" in the first episode earned a pass to the 3rd should the 2nd be a dud.

Jason Sudekis (sp?) is just now coming into the picture, so I'm curious to see how that turns out.
I'll give you some credit, I think it could have been much better, but the cast is so 'out there' for lack of better words. Eclectic, maybe?
I enjoyed the *%$# out of the first season, but it has digressed to a point of confusion.
I don't find myself belly laughing as much as I did the first season.
So...in essence, you are probably (almost) spot on.
Let's see where the last part of this season takes us.
