So the dad couldn't get out of the hotel's pool in episode 2 because the mom took his swim shorts? When he finally gets out, you can seehe has on orange speedos in every shot. Was this just bad editing?

It was the waistband, the swim trunks literally ripped off him and left just the waistband.

Really? I thought the show was just being overly campy! The themed restaurant and the diarrhea vomit scene was disgustingly hilarious.

Went back and rewatched as this bugged me also.
Looking at the scene right after the removal, he has no waistband in the pool when he crosses his legs.
I think it was poor editing.

Absolutely poor editing, the nude undergarment was distractingly obvious.
For that reason, though, I speculate that might have been done purposely (perhaps to add to the absurdity of the show).
