What was the point of showing so many scenes with Compys?

There were numerous scenes with Compys running around or appearing out of things and I was expecting a pay-off.

Certainly, there's a hint that was Eli Mills was going to attacked by them towards the end of the film, but no, once again the bad guy is devoured by the T-Rex who pops out of nowhere.

it's the common way films are made today, random and senseless with plot points that lead nowhere.

Distraction, like a magicians trick. In the first scene i thought Blue was using them as cover since she clever and all but it seems the director just liked compys.
