But I could say the same thing to you. I'm pretty sure we're both fans of DC and Batman. Both of us love the character. So how is it that someone like you can love this film? but someone like me can dislike it and criticize it?
Maybe it's because I love the character and DC so much that I want their work to be as great as it can be. I agree with you in that the animation was great, the fights were exciting, and there were some cool characters. The "story" as a whole was a bit wonky but it was alright. However, it's not so much the story as a whole that people who criticize complain about, it's the individual writing that builds that story. Things like how lines are written, how scenes are placed to bring the plot together, details here and there that don't make sense, etc.
If you enjoyed the movie, then that's great. You shouldn't let other peoples' opinions affect yours. BUT, if someone else found issues with the film and didn't enjoy it as much, I don't see why you should disregard them.
Using "it's an action comic book movie" as an excuse for lazy writing is the same as saying, "it's just a kid's movie!". Do you want to watch "Norm of the North"? Or do you want to watch something like "The Lego Movie"? Both of them are kids movies, but one of them is clearly better than the other. My point is, just because it's an action comic book movie doesn't mean it can't have great writing. So again, at least for me, it's not the story overall that I have a problem with, but the individual writing.
No hate though!
