shareI gave it a 6/10. It's solid, but nowhere near the top tier classics like UTR, Dark Knight Returns (both parts), etc. This was my first foray into the Damien Wayne series, and I can see why people can't stand him; never understand why creative people push annoying teens into story lines. I thought the animation was OK, just too much tech crap happening for my tastes. My biggest complaint is the push to include so many people on the team. Shoehorning all these characters in is so unnecessary and messy to me.
shareI've really enjoyed this "Damian trilogy". My initial impression was Bad Blood > Batman vs Robin > Son of Batman. But I re-watched the first two on Saturday, and found them to be better than I recalled. I still want to give Bad Blood another viewing, but as of now, I might favor the first two over it. Like the other poster commented, Bad Blood had too many characters.
As far as ranking these with the other DC animated movies. I might still put ROTJ at the top, though its been a while since I've seen it. Under the Hood was my second favorite, but I rewatched it recently, and found it not quite as good as I'd remembered. In at least one area, portrayal of Nightwing and incorporation of him into the story, I found the Damian movies better. Flashpoint Paradox is also up there, though I felt that one didn't flow as well as a movie with its pacing. Tentatively, I might rank my favorites like this:
Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker
Batman vs Robin
Son of Batman
Batman: Under the Red Hood
Batman: Mask of the Phantasm
Batman: Bad Blood
Justice League: Flashpoint Paradox
Justice League: Crisis on Two Earth
Gods and Monsters should probably be in there somewhere, I'm just not sure off hand were I'd put it.
I love the Damian Trilogy, they are all about the same rating for me, don't know which one I liked the most/least. I would put all 3 in My Top 10 Favorite DC animated films as well, there are only minor details I would changed in the story, other than that they are great and i'll probably re-watch them every year.
"Come in, dispatch. Send more paramedics."
I enjoyed it. Not as great as some of the others, but it's a fun watch. Plus, the more Nightwing, the better.
Let's be bad guys.
Batman Bad Blood isn't a bad watch, just there's a few small things. I really wanted Dick Grayson's batman to be the main focus nothing against Batwoman or Batwing. It seemed almost easy finding Bruce Wayne. Its cool they are adding more Bat-family members, and I was hoping for final battle with Grayson's Batman and Hertic,(Hertic got killed off too early). It's not a bad watch, it has alot of cool parts,I'll admit that. Some characters I wish had gotten fleshed out better, I sensed some kind of(rivalry isn't the right word) but, when Luicius's son is asking Dick Grayson to help out and use some of his dad's tech, I felt like there was a friendship there, kinda interested to see how they first met. Alfred has pretty awesome parts in Batman Bad Blood. Why does Tallia seem so willing to sacrifice Damnain?
Mask of the Phantasm
Under the Red Hood/Batman Year One
Justice League Doom
Dark Knight Returns Part One and Two
Assault on Arkham
Batman vs Robin
Superman vs the Elite
JL New Froniter
Gotham Knight
Emerald Knights
Wonder Woman ( I think they DC should do a new Wonder woman animated film)

It's somewhere near the bottom for me, joining War, and Throne of Atlantis as the worst. I enjoyed Son of and Vs but this one was dull, despite all the action. There wasn't much depth in character or personality to the heroes. Batwing, Batwoman and even Nightwing were boring. Nightwing should've had his own movie if they expect me to care about him. He needs more development. To me, he comes across as a half assed Batman. Batwing's backstory is too much like Cyborgs in War and Batwoman's is too similar to Batman. Her sexual orientation seemed to be her only character trait.
shareI agree, they should do a solo Nightwing film, to go explore his character better and for better character development. Nightwing has showed up in Under the Red Hood, Son of Batman, can't remember if he's in Batman vs Robin. Nightwing is fully rich character in DC comics universe, he has a lot of layers and depth to him, he's been through so many changes throughout the years.
