Question about Nightwing's "babe"... (only minor spoilers)

So are we left to assume that the girl that he was talking to on the phone, when his character is first intro'd, is in fact Batgirl?
At first I thought it just might be some random girl he was hooking up with, she referred to him as "Dick", but then he ended the call with "Nightwing out". I'm not up to date with this character in the new 52 so wasn't sure if the two of them were in fact supposed to be a couple or not.

reply

I'm pretty sure that was Oracle (Barbra
Gordon after the killing joker incident which left her paralyzed)

reply

Not possible since they showed Batgirl at the end. More likely someone from Teen Titans who know him as Nightwing.

reply

Pretty sure it was starfire

Doesn't Barbera date Tim drake, not dick Grayson??

Maybe in the New 52 universe. In the old days Babs was as old or older than Dick and the two of them were an item for quite a while. For a long time, if Dick broke up with Barbara he would probably be seeing Kory; and if he and Kory grew apart, he'd take up with Barbara again.

She used to date Grayson, now she's dating Lucius Fox.

It's hot... but not as hot as the night Johnny Viti got married...

Dick's girlfriend on the phone is Kory Anders, a.k.a. Princess Koriand'r, a.k.a. Starfire. She's calling from the Tower (Titans Tower).

I thought I heard him say 'Kory' or 'Carrie' at some point in the conversation...

i thought he slipped up when he said nightwing out

It is most probably Starfire....the only gf Dick has had in comic book continuity with the nickname 'Kori'.

And this seems like setup for the Justice League vs Teen Titans film coming out next.

But it isnt that Barbara doesn't exist...since we see her at the end of the film...apparently starting out as Batgirl in her current New 52 costume. So oracle doesnt seem to exist in this universe yet. Wonder whether the killing joke film will be in continuity with these Batman movies after all....

Matt Ryan and Misha Collins. Constantine/Castiel crossover - the Trenchcoat Brigade. DO IT!

I must've missed her name, didn't hear him refer to her as Kori. Thanks for clearing that up.

reply

It was Starfire. They showed a brief picture of her when he hung up.

reply

It is definitely Starfire...in addition to calling her Kori, his caller ID showed her pic in this movie and the last one.

reply

It was Starfire aka Kori. You could see her name on the phone or something at one point during the fight scene.

reply

good to know it was someone involved in that world, because at first it seemed like he was hiding who he was then he said Nightwing out (which is so romantic) so it was a bit confusing.
