Dont get the Damien hate...
Really enjoy this arc of batman atm, yeah the kid is a brat but he isnt a blind follower. Also enjoy him bringing it to Dick.

shareTo me he seems to be born of the stuff of what the worst Robin fanboy in the world would create. Batman and Robin aren't supposed to be on equal footing for a reason. And, the little brat has killed! He's even done so in front of Batman more than once and he gets a pass "because he's Bruce's biological kid"; that just kind of rubs out any of the stuff he's tried to teach the other Robins about honor and justice and all that.
When theres no more room in Hollywood, remakes shall walk the Earth.share
Evil little bastard with gary stu fighting abilities. Apparently being a small skinny child trained by Ra's Al Ghul for a couple of years is better than being a full grown powerful man trained by batman for many years and having real world experience on multiple SUPERVILLIANS.
shareWell he is teaching Damian honor, he forbids him from killing and from watching the movie it is getting through to him, I personally love Damian as Robin, because he's a new challenge, he's not a boy out for vengeance (dick), a boy turning to a life of crime as a thief and possibly drug dealer like his father (Todd), or like Drake who unofficially took the mantle, Damien is a cold blooded killer ave believes the way of the league is the right way so Bruce has to de basically deprogram what's been embedded in him since birth
shareThe killing part is understandable. Those are criminals AND that is how he was raised. Batman is trying to change him (and apparently did). He can't blame a KID for how an *beep* raised him.
As for his fighting abilities... Yeah... They make no sense.
I certainly love the Damian character in the comics, but the movies still aren't quite getting his characterization right. Sure, they make him look badass, but he's always complaining, never making a dry-witted joke in bad taste or even making his famous ">TT<" noise.
Not to mention he and Dick still aren't getting along, which is a shame because I love their partnership in Grant Morrison's B&R.
"DO NOT WRECK THIS GIGANTIC DOOM."
One of the reasons I dislike the character, at least in these animated movies, is because he's too overpowered. In the comics, Damien can kick ass, sure, but he's not defeating Deathstroke, or giving Batman a fair fight. Not to mention in the movies, they play up all his arrogance and snobbery, but none of his charm or humor. The main problem seems to be that they have trouble giving Damien any meaningful relationships outside of Batman. His brotherly attachment with Nightwing, his hatred of Tim, his brusqueness with Alfred, are all absent.
And then there's the fact that Tim, arguably the greatest Robin, has yet to get any screen time in any movie (at least to my recollection), while Damien has been either the focus or a substantial part of three.

Yeah, and that's not even an accurate representation of the character. Unfortunately I don't think we'll be seeing Tim anytime soon in the animated movies, as they've also treating his character terribly in the new 52. The fact that we've Batwing (and not even the original African one) before Tim doesn't bode well for the likelihood of him appearing anytime soon. He's in the Forgotten Bin next to Cassandra Cain, Stephanie Brown, etc.
shareI'd love to see Tim Drake show up in one of the DC animated movies, I don't know if he ever will, but I'm still hoping he will. The line where Damien tells Dick Grayson that he's probably glad Bruce is possibly dead because he could have the suit, that really was an underhanded spiteful thing to say. I've tried get to used to Damien, sometimes he's cool in the comics, when Batman returns him from Darkseid, and Damien returns home with Bruce, he became to more of an interesting character. Still my favorite Robins are Carrie Kelly and Tim Drake.

Also BATMAN: MYSTERY OF THE BATWOMAN (2003). It would be nice to see him in these recent animated films, though.Yes, forgot about that one. Thanks.
Too much angst and too eager to grow-up. Plus, he's just annoying.
shareI like Damien so much in these movies that I hope he'll be in the rest of Batman animated movies.
So glad he'll be in the next DC animated movie.

This is for breaking my heart at Belle Reve, Martian!

Wow, that is the BEST succinct description. I'm always expounding on why I can't stand him, but that puts it all so simple. Don't know why I never thought of that. Well done!
