Son of Batman was just about tolerable and Batman vs. Robin was decent...but IMO, Batman Bad Blood is the first film in this New 52 Batman franchise that's actually 'good'.
Yeah, it doesn't exactly do justice to the source material but its a thoroughly entertaining film, which touches upon some interesting themes - namely the 'Bat-family' and Dick's issues being Bruce's successor. Plus, Batwoman was friggin' awesome in this and even Batwing was pretty good. And I think Damian finally came into his own as both Robin and Batman's son...concluding his story-arc across these films.
Imo Batwoman was decent enough and didn't hate Batwing but they could easily have written him out. Maybe planning a Battle for the Cowl or just a bat-family movie next year.
I agree with you on the first two but for me, this plot moved too quickly (YET AGAIN!) to really sink in.

Killing Heretic so early and anticlimactically was a huge mistake, and just as his arc was getting interesting. Talia suddenly has no regard for Damien at all; one could argue she thought of him as a tool for getting at Bruce or as a successor in SoB but only as a massive stretch. There's that awesome conversation of Nightwing talking about how lonely it was growing up with Bruce, and that's about it. He sort of comes back to it during the final fight but that kind of character depth needs to be mined.

Animation and models (nothing new) were letdowns for me. One shot stood out, where Kathy is in a bar with about five people sitting behind her. None are moving and one is frozen mid-laugh. A tool for saving money I suppose but a decent budget shouldn't hurt, unless the figures don't allow it. I'm not a fan of the character models (like Electrocutioner, Firefly, Killer Moth) but too late to change some.
All around I liked some parts (plot was fun, choreography was excellent again from Jay Oliva, cast was good), including Damien. It had too many issues though for me to say it was better than BvR, which is frustrating in and of itself.
It's better than the other movies in this universe IMO, but it does feel like they were "making another Batman movie". It felt like TDKR was a passion project for someone and they put some heart/sweat in it. To a lesser extent I'd say the same is true for Gods and Monsters - it was something different and felt complete. I would've liked to have seen more of Nightwing and his perspective. I liked Batwoman, maybe they should've saved Cyborg (oh, I mean Batwing) for the next movie. I do look forward to a Bat Family movie, especially if Red Hood is involved. I'm not sure if Batgirl is supposed to be completely new or if she just got her legs back in this universe.
Yeah, it's best New 52 movie I've seen so far. My only complaints would be that Batwing seems a bit bland (he's just Cyborg with wings) and I would've liked Red Hood and Batgirl (or Oracle) in the mix (or at least mentioned), but I forget where they stand in this universe.
I'd agree with what was said before, Hertic was killed off too early. From the promo, information I heard about Batman Bad Blood before actualy seeing it, was that a new villain,Hertic, would be main baddie and he would be gathering other Bat villains. Kinda surprised that Hertic got killed ,I thought they would be final battle with Hertic and Dick Grayson's Batman. I thought Batwing was pretty well presented in the film, and Batwoman I thought they did a pretty good job with. It would be cool if they had tossed in Red Hood, and Red Robin to complete Bat family.
Son was a 5/10 that lived off production values alone. Vs. is a 8/10 with greatly improved writing and more respect to the source material (the respectable J. M. DeMatteis wrote it). Bad Blood shared the same writer and overall team but it is a step down again. The characters are way too flat, the film is overstuffed and the action scenes lacked imagination. I felt as i was watching a commercial for other films (that´s shared continuity for you...) and Morrison´s masterful run deserves better. 6/10 I might have lost hope in the writing of the New52 universe films but the yearly one off The Killing Joke should be a delight. Better luck with film no.4 or Justice League 3, dear WB/DC.
It's not a trilogy. These movies take place in the same universe one after another.
Batman: Assault on Arkham Son of Batman Batman vs. Robin Justice League: War Justice League: Throne of Atlantis Batman: Bad Blood Justice League vs Teen Titans
The timeline order is not certain (unless you consider the release dates the timeline), but this is the most likely. Batman is still going solo during Assault on Arkham, then is taking care of Damian during Son of Batman and Batman vs Robin. At the end of Batman vs Robin, Damian goes to stay with the monks, during which time Batman joins with the Justice League for War and Throne of Atlantis. Damian then comes back during Bad Blood, after which he too joins the Justice League and then the Teen Titans in Justice League vs Teen Titans.
I don't believe Assault on Arkham is part of the same continuity. I thought it was said it was supposed to be set in the same universe as the Arkham games and i a stand alone movie. The rest sound right though, could possibly add Flashpoint Paradox as it sort of sets the stage for the new 52 universe at the very end and has a teaser lead-in into War, but the main story is not connected to it.
