We get it...She's GAY!
Are they going to have her sexually interacting with women all the time to let us know. Or is she actually going to be a useful non-forced crime-fighter?

shareAs far as I've read, Kate flirted once in this. You act as though she hit on every other woman in the movie including the 'nunjas'. Would you like to stop trolling and say something interesting? Or at least useful?

As long as it isn't those scary manly lesbians it's cool.
shareKate Kane is a lesbian... has been for 20? years in the comics... she was having was a 'night out' at a club...
would you be whining this loudly if they reversed the scene and had a single Dick Grayson flirting at a Bar and BatWoman texted him?
the more forced aspect was that it was Heavily implied that her 'date' was Renee Montoya (Latina cop named Renee, lesbian) DC's other token lesbian...
Kate Kane is a lesbian... has been for 20?Not quite. Cut that in half; the modern version of Kate Kane debuted in 2006. And yes, that was Renee Montoya, revealed to be gay in the mainstream DC Universe, who she was flirting with.
Kate and Renee had a relationship together until they split up. I don't think it's tokenism.
It's hot... but not as hot as the night Johnny Viti got married...
Token may have been the wrong word to use... but if they have a canon history, I think it's all the more forced that that is the relationship they start exploring in Kane's first appearance...
but if they have a canon history, I think it's all the more forced that that is the relationship they start exploring in Kane's first appearance...If that is your attitude then you are definitely not the target audience for this because there is no winning with you. There is nothing that they can do with Kate Kane that would please you except to leave her out of these.

I have no issue with the use of Kate Kane, her lesbianism or the nature of the relationship... I think they could have just as easily had it be a 'no name' woman...
near as I can tell the Lesbian Population of the DCU is Kate, Renee and Maggie Sawyer... and maybe about a half dozen exes between the three... so in my opinion... when you introduce one of them to a new medium, (in this case the Animated Film Universe) it seems 'wasteful' to use one of the few other Named minorities as 'the girlfriend'...
- hypothetically lets say that we've never seen Commissioner Gordon in the franchise, and the first time we see him, it's not as a Cop working with Batman... but it was as Barbara's Dad, whom she leaves with the check while making a "Iron my Dog" (TVtropes.org) excuse to go be Batgirl... and they have Chinese food at the end.
That's why I think they shouldn't have 'wasted' Renee.
Ah, I get you now. Sorry.
It's hot... but not as hot as the night Johnny Viti got married...
Well if anything, you should be annoyed that it's this relationship they touch on (seriously, two women flirt in a bar for all of a minute, that's it) when in the comics, those two have split up by the time Kate returns to Gotham and becomes the Batwoman.
They should have had her flirting with Maggie Sawyer, the woman she eventually marries.

You SJW fanboys are hilarious.
Like, every third line of hers was some quip about liking girls. It was ridiculous.
They should have either just not addressed it (or maybe given her ONE line addressing she was lesbian) and then let her act like a normal human being instead of a token.
OR, they should have gone all the way with it, given her a female love interest from the start and explored that relationship and give her a real reason to be talking about her sexuality. They only really hinted at a possible relationship at the very end of the movie.
Like, every third line of hers was some quip about liking girls. Not even close. Kate's lesbianism was not referenced any more than Dick's heterosexuality. It certainly wasn't constant.
'SJW fanboy'.. mmm.. clever retort.
I don't know if you're a troll, a sock, or just an idiot. Come back when you've actually seen the movie and can contribute something relevant.
It's hot... but not as hot as the night Johnny Viti got married...
SJW the term someone can use to immediately justify bigotry. Having not known the charater I was a bit surprised when her dad mentioned a gf, but after that I didnt really care. TBH though the movie introduced Batwoman as a major character from the beginning, so if she is gay in the comics. it is only right they address that here at some point.
I also think they used the date to show how being a crime fighter leaves those involved without much time for personal lives and very lonely as a result. We saw this with Night Wing as well, and to a lesser extent with Batman.
I prefer to think of Maggie as a Superman character.
"I knew it, I'm surrounded by @$$Holes"
I don't recall her being in any sex scenes.
Meanwhile, we also get it that Dick's heterosexual. Are we going to keep getting scenes getting at that (relationship with Starfire, having a crush on Kate when he was younger, and maybe still having one).
We also get it that Talia has the hots for her "Beloved" Bruce. And they keep hammering that.
You want them to get rid of physical attraction and interest in all the DC movies?

Well said.
Let's be bad guys.
And yet you say nothing about Dick's phone call with Kori, or Talia kissing and flirting with Bruce? Hm...
shareTalia kissing and flirting with Bruce? Hm...
Dick's phone call with Kori,
I didnt feel like it was forced much at all. I tink her character was tacked on for the movie and could have had more to do with the plot except random fighter but there werent many gay overtones at all.
shareDick spent most of the movie prattling on about his love life - are you going to complain about having breeders shoved in our face? How about her dad going on and on about his dead wife?
I don't think her love life was emphasized any more that any character's might have been in the same situation. I mean - her dad mentioned it once, we saw her flirting in a bar, and the woman showed up for a date at the end. Probably less than sixty seconds in a two hour movie.
If they *really* wanted to rub our faces in it, her date would've shown up while she was in that robe & lingerie ensemble and wolf-whistled.
