My problem with these movies

While I enjoy them for what they are, I'm just not interested in the plots. Damien is very annoying at times and way too overpowered. The first movie offered a terrible interpretation of Deathstroke as the villain. The Court of Owls was better but not by much. This movie was Talia again but for no explained reason she was suddenly heartless and evil. She's accompanied by a laundry list of C and D listers. Of which I could probably name three and care about maybe two. Probably the only interesting villain for me was Dollmaker and he had a two minute cameo. Why won't they use more recognizable Batman rogues?

Then we get to the sidekicks. I only found Nightwing likeable. As I said I found Damien very annoying. Batwing I've never heard of and apparently wasn't missing much in the first place. I didn't care for Batwoman either. He backstory was decent but as a character she was nothing more than a liberals dream. Then they go and tease Batgirl and Penguin. Two characters I'd much rather see.

Maybe I'm just being picky but just going obscure for variety isn't always good.

The movies seem to focus on his growth as a character, as he is going through many changes in each one, the biggest being in Justice League vs Teen Titans. Also, he's been trained all his life to fight and to rule. He's going to be stuck up and powerful.

Can't say much in defense for Deathstroke or the Owls, but Talia was always living in her father's shadow and under his rule, obeying him without question and little thought. When she took over the League of Assassins, it's likely her true nature and ambitions came out, which were different from her father's and had been suppressed with him lording over her.

Main villains like Joker, Two-Face, Penguin, etc are overly used (as great as they are). I think they wanted to try ones that aren't used as much. If it's any consolation, even though it's an movie version of the game, Assault On Arkham seems to take place in the same universe as these movies as it's written and drawn by the same makers.

I've never heard of Batwing prior to this movie, either. When he said his name, I just though "isn't that Batman's plane...?"

I absolutely loved Batwoman's delivery of "Hey, Batwing. Want a ride in the...Batwing?"

Why were Batgirl and Penguin teased at the end? Are they making a Bad girl centric after this one, apart from the Killing Joke?

To each their own, I suppose. This is DC's current continuity of films. So far we've had three Justice League movies beginning with 'JL:War' which was pulled from New 52's first volume; same with the "Throne of Atlantis," which was the third volume in the New 52, but then we got to the latest 'JL' movie -- "Justice League vs. Teen Titans" -- which was cool because it introduced the Titans into the continuity and wasn't based on anything out of the New 52 (which is a story for another day).

At the same time, interjected in-between films were the badass Batman films, from "Son of Batman" to "Batman vs. Robin" to the latest, "Bad Blood." 'Son of' was based on the graphic novel by Grant Morrison, "Batman and Son," a story that took place years before the New 52. And the best part of the Batfilms were that they weren't afraid to take risks, and when they adapted "The Court of Owls" storyline into "Batman vs. Robin" it wasn't a straight-up adaptation, and strayed from the source material by simply taking the iconic story and putting their own spin on it, allowing the characters a lot of freedom. Similarly , "Bad Blood" is a mix of stories, ranging from "Battle of the Cowl" to "Batman and Robin: Batman Reborn," "Batwoman: Elegy" and even a little bit of "Batman, Inc."

You're saying you're not feeling the plots and don't like a lot of the characters, and I respect that, it's your opinion -- but I feel that, specifically with the Batman titles, they are bringing out some of the best in the characters with these movies. Definitely feel with each passing movie, the characters are evolving, constantly changing and growing with each new chapter that unfolds.

2017's bringing the 'JL: Dark' over and giving the Titans another film based on one of their landmark comics. The only thing 2017 doesn't seem to be bringing is another addition of "Batman." Sure, they're giving the corny "Batman '66" a sequel and Bruce Timm is doing a "Batman and Harley Quinn" movie but those are both out of continuity, therefore as of right now there are no plans to build on the iconic ending of "Bad Blood." The Batfamily is all together, the time is ripe for a classic film, Detective Comics style.
