Season 2 rewrite

Revamp this show and bring it back for another season. Lose the Jacob storyline. Kids and custody battles are just a drag on a show. Refocus the storyline on the adventures of Letty and Javier. Things were going pretty well until E9 and the writers blew up the plot. Less crying and whining from Letty and more storylines around Javier. He's an interesting character who has been acting like Letty's door mat until he walked last night while she turned him over to the Feds. I can't see how you get them out of this mess without turning them into Bonnie and Clyde. And that didn't end well. Get some new writers and save this show.

P.S. Regardless of what the producers say, there is NO chemistry between Sean and Letty. Don't underestimate the viewers.

Yes! Right! I have not read the books upon which this show is based, but I agree Letty is a whiner and Javier has nothing to gain at this point, from being her ally. We'll see next week where the FBI, Letty and "Philanthropist" the intersect and what remains.

I agree with the OP. The real problem is that the whole custody story line is so at risk of being too soap opera-ish. The originality in the show was whether the two outcasts we have in Letty and Javier could be interesting, and how that would be explored. A show instead about who gets to raise a child is just too been there before.

One small item I disagree with is the implication that it is the actors' fault that there is no chemistry between Sean and Letty. I think the writers are expecting too much of the actors to show chemistry given the overall context of their relationship. That context works too strongly against chemistry, in no small part because the context includes not only Letty's antipathy toward Sean but also the relationship she has with Javier who has a very different personality. There really is no room for any chemistry given the narrative. The narrative does not make sense if you try to force that kind of chemistry into it. It's not the actors' fault.

I completely agree with you re the Sean/Letty chemistry. You've laid out exactly why it didn't and couldn't exist. I was referencing an interview the exc producer gave yesterday re E9. Given the stunned reacton from viewers to Letty having sex with Sean, he seemed to be selling the idea that there was chemistry with Sean and Letty based on their past relationship. You made a perfect argument against that notion.

I agree with the original poster's suggestions for a show revamp.

Letty and Javier on the road were far more interesting. Leave Jacob with Estelle, and lose the whole custody battle with Sean.

This show took an undesirable wrong turn detour in episode 9.

I can only hope Letty finds Javier in the next episode (and he forgives her), and they run off together.

He needs his own spin-off. Hitman with a code just looking for someone to care about him.

If the show isn't renewed I hope he does get picked up for another show. Had never heard of him but really like him. The strong silent type.

I hope he gets snapped up by another show too, if this show doesn't get renewed.

I was pleasantly surprised to see him turn up on American tv again after many years away. He hadn't done any tv shows here since Zorro, back when he was a teen.

He is not only handsome, but an excellent actor, as well.

And despite my gripes about this show (LETTY MAINLY!), I really hope it does get renewed.

'The Ballad of Little Santino' was excellent. Riveting. Moving. I haven't been that captivated by a tv show in a few years. The last time I was disappointed in the way the THAT show took a bad turn as well. 

I thought this show was only going to improve more from TBOLS on. Not completely go to s*it after 'It Still Fits B*tch'.
