Letty and Sean Hotel Scene

That wasn't rape, and it's pretty obvious.

It's easy to see the chemistry/foreplay in the court before the hotel. Sean touches her intimately, and even calls her a *strawberry* which is slang for a prostitute who will do anything for her drug. Which in Letty's case is drugs, alcohol and sex. As much as she accuses Sean of not changing, she also hasn't changed.

We know as far back as the first episode, that Letty follows setbacks, with extremely bad decisions, because she is reckless. Instead of doing meth in a hotel room, she grabs a bottle of vodka, takes her clothes off and and doesn't bother with covering the window. When Sean walks by she opens the door.

What follows is staring in each others eyes, slapping his hand away in a sexual and twisted manner. And the same instincts that have her wanting to kill him, is the same that have her wanting to have sex with him. After having what is obviously animalistic sex, she wakes up the next day, hating herself, for giving in to all of her base desires. She even goes as far as trying to wipe herself clean of him.

As warped as it was, this scene pretty much sums up the entire series.

Well argued.

I always thought it was not a rape. She knew what she was doing, in stressed situations she always resorts to her additions.

I see the sex scene with Sean(do not forget that she has a "thing" for black men) as another bottle of vodka that she drank or a dose of meth.

Was curious and enlightening the scene in the morning when she gets out of bed and in front of the mirror instead of face wash as anyone would, or go take a bath she cleans her vagina, as you said she felt like a "strawberry".

She likes to be well treated, Javier but at the same time likes to be treated badly, Sean, because she think it deserves.

Letty in his self destructive behavior it has an attraction / addition to the abyss.

The problem is that if you(Letty) look to long into the abyss he looks back(drugs, alcohol and Sean);)

Letty as a fictional character is extraordinary and Michelle Dockery has a amazing interpretation.

I'll speculate: In these episodes we did not know it or did not tell us - the writers, as Sean was a pornographic actor, he somehow forced Letty into this world, just a thought.

As the show has been renewed and one of the producers has already said that Cristian and Sean will play a more important role.I think this with Sean is not yet finished, the battle for the custody of the son and a certain ascendant that Sean may still have about Letty in certain circumstances.

Letty will still have to face his ghosts / additions, and how any addict will fall relapses into the path of "redemption".

It has everything to be a great and intense second season.

One last thought; Javier also need to face and solve their own ghosts.

I can see why she hated herself after the ugly drunken sex with Sean.

I would loathe myself for screwing around with someone who helped make my life a living hell. Demoralized me. Fueled my addictions. And used me for a punching bag. Then RE-entered my life to hurt me again via their child. And the child as well.

I completely part ways with Hodge's insistence that there is any chemistry between the two.

I was turned off by Sean after he told her post ugly sex that she wasn't as good as he remembered her to be.

Not rape but he was very aggressive. I don't think she would have gone along if she had not been drunk and high. I hate him for doing that, and a final blow was to say "you were better in my memories". Sean is a cruel bastard.

reply

Yes Sean was a cruel bastard when he said that but Letty knew and knows well what Sean is and yet opened the door in underwear, she knew very well what was going to happen and wanted it. Like she wants drugs and alcohol, the same desire, the same addition.

I do not want, always justify Letty. She needs to assume her mistakes learn from them and move on.

I hope a very intense and dramatic second season. Javier and Letty they will have a very difficult road to "redemption".

I predict relapses for Letty, the "topic" Sean it is not yet resolved she'll have to face him and get rid of it, here i think Letty will have one of the relapses until she got rid of Sean once and for all.

Javier will try to approach his sister but for this he have to stop being a killer and this brand will still pursue him, and many more things.

It has everything to be a great second season.
