Tombstone is a great bot but its driver's personality certainly leaves something to be desired. I went back and watched his first couple matches and it's really irritating how the other bot is clearly dead in the water and he'll go in for another hit just to smash it up even further. That's just more money the other team is going to have to cough up for repairs now, and for what? The match was already won. Each hit is probably a couple hundred more dollars and he's a jerk for needlessly wasting their funds.

Not so sure about it costing the builders more money. I had read ABC and/or the production company fronted at least some of the money for these bots.
Let me put it this way, just like sand castle or sidewalk chalk artists, they expected them not to survive. share
He puts on the personality for the cameras for fun but everyone who participates says he's the nicest guy around.
And as for the late hits, when he's saying "want more?" he's honestly asking the other team if they want to stop or keep putting on a show.
He's just risking more damage to his own bot though.
If you watch Hypnodisc in the older UK series they will hang back once their opponent is immobilised because it's not just a single battle, it's the whole tournament that they have to fight through to win and that last unnecessary hit that knocks something loose in their own bot could cost the grand prize.

It was so foolish of tombstone to hit his opponent while he was being counted out. Also it cost them dearly.
