Once Again...

Its young teenagers making stupid decisions that lead premise of this horror movie plot.

I am so sick of this. Why can't middle aged or seniors be involved in a horror. The only recent one I can think of is MAMA where the protagonists are in there 30's.

In the early 70's you had some real memorable thrillers back then without the use of CGI or young clueless teenagers.

Then Friday 13th came along and suddenly it teenagers making stupid decisions (opening sacred books, going to secluded cabins, engaging in premarital coitus) that leads the plots. They transgress...they must be punished. (Cabin in the Woods)

Hollywood is so formulaic. Its just about franchises and blockbusters. No longer about story telling.

The Conjuring features a more mature couple, as does Annabelle, but I completely agree with you.

I agree as well, but Hollywood doesn't think this way, generally. Young people make up the majority of the ticket buying audience, and it is believed that young folk don't want to watch movies with older characters.
