Levayan Satanism has nothing to do with the devil from the bible, and they mentioned both levay and one of the churches members. So they already made a mistake there. One of the religions that actually isn't *beep* crazy fodder to keep people in line getting is getting nickel and dimed by Hollywood. That is lame.

shareI'm not Christian, I'm more or less a skeptical agnostic, but even LaVeyan Satanism includes an active disdain for the Abrahamic faiths, which in the context of the Abrahamic faiths, would be seen as devil worship.
shareSatan though usually means the main adversary of God, as in Lucifer. To us, Satan is not anyone who asks questions or is "inquisitive". To us, Satan is the father of lies, evil, etc. Nothing to do with questioning because even Satan believes in God as the Bible says, and does nothing but LIE. He's not inquisitive, he already knows and now works his asz off to cover up the truth. He seems to have succeeded with this "open minded" one, aka you.

OP is correct, and anyone disagreeing is simply wrong. Satanism and 'devil worship' are two wholly different things. Satanists, particularly Laveyan, have ZERO to do with Christianity. The 'devil worshippers' who draw upside down crosses, think heavy metal musicians backmask evil messages, attempt animal sacrifice, and literally worship some imaginary red horned guy with a pitchfork are NOT Satanists, they are christians, practicing a made up version of 'inverted Christianity'. And they're usually fifteen years old. In reality, 'Satan' isn't even a person, it's Ha Satan (the adversary), and it's a TITLE, like defence attorney, comptroller, or CFO. Satanism is a left-hand path belief system, in contrast to Abrahamic religions' right-hand systems. Satanism is NOT inverted christianity. In the high school of Life, Satanism is the drama club. No more.
Stuff like this movie and claims that 'some' Satanists are devil worshippers just makes the writer sound like a clueless retard.
