After seeing the trailer, put me in the "not impressed" category.
I understand that they are making the trailer look comedic, perhaps to drum up interests since the whole GIANT SHARK theme has been run in the ground. It's a shame, because I read Steve Alten's books and really enjoyed the first two novels. The stories had a good bit of Paleo Science that made them more interesting for the intelligent reader.
There had been fears from the start that Hollywood would take MEG and turn it into a typical summer action flick. Looks like those fears were justified.
How disappointing.
