Guys...I just saw it, unfortunatelty it STUNK :(

I'm on the train home from the screening right now. I was so excited going in, and boy was I let down. It's laughable. Anyone who hates Dane DeHan should see this movie because they'd get a great laugh. The cinematography was STUNNING at times though, and I could tell Gore had a vision, but the script needed MAJOR changes! I will be genuinely surprised if this movie isn't absolutely panned.

that's insane. I just saw it and the audience cheered at the end

reply

Wow I'm surprised by that. A few people let out maybe 4 or 5 claps but that's it for mine. There were even a few audible laughs during a lot of it.

reply

Same here. Couple of claps and that was it. Meh

His screening was probably full of 'arteests' from Sundance who praise the most abysmal schlock so long as it looks weird or embraces their ideology.

Yeah, this movie is the epitome of style over substance.

From the trailers alone it felt to me that it was trying to be creepy via a bunch of stitched together 'eerie' scenes and attempts at creepy dialog.

I actually laughed at how over the top the water tank scene was. These numbskulls think that revealing how people are made of mostly water and all that other blathering the doc did is somehow deep and disturbing when intoned in a deep, droning voice. I was actually more reminded of "Star Wars: Clone Wars" and the 'I hate sand' scene.

reply

Um nope. And nobody thought the doctor talking about water was deep. He was actually setting up plot points that'd come up later.

reply

Agreed. The perfect movie to watch on mute. It made me think of The Cell. Gorgeous visuals with no substance.
