This is the first Transformers movie that I turned off out of frustration.

This movie seemed to be a chick flick about a young girl and her robotic car. I found all the eighties music to be annoying. I grew up in the eighties and I loved the songs but I don't want to watch an extended music video.

It was also a bit of a repeat of the first movie with the girl discovering the old car and hiding the car from her parents. Hailee Steinfeld is also not a very good actress and she isn't hawt enough to maintain my interest.

The real stars of the Transformers movies have been the multiple Autobots and Decepticons but this movie seems to focus more on the young girl.

Aw, BOO-HOO! I thought it was the best Transformers movie, not like that Michael Bay rubbish!

reply

Agreed.

The Bay stuff is confusing, mostly because the Transformers are designed in such a messy and over-elaborate way, that it's often hard to distinguish between them, or even identify where their faces are.

This one succeeded because it kept the story simple, with a limited number of Transformers, specifically the visually distinctive Bumblebee, and had a human centre, with a much more endearing lead (i.e. Hailee Steinfeld) than previous films.

For real though, you could actually tell what the hell was happening when the Transformers fought.

That was so fucking refreshing!

Instead of the fights looking like, as honest trailers put it, "Two radio shacks doing kamasutra in a hurricane"
