Why didn't the Decepticons kill the woman at the motel?

Why did the Decepticons not kill the woman at the motel? One of them killed the man, but left the woman alive. Wouldn't they want to kill any witnesses?

She was irrelevant. Who would be believe her anyway?

How would Decepticons know that? It seems like their attitude would be better safe than sorry.

Then it add to much violence and push over to a pg-13 or R rating.

But they killed the man right next to her and he is shown explosing into goo. I don't see what different it would make to the rating to have them both get killed instead of just one.

Yes, but other characters get killed, including the woman's boyfriend or husband. I don't see what difference it would make in terms of kid-friendliness to have both characters get killed instead of jsut one.

They didn't feel she was worth their time after watching how the guy reacted to them. Besides, they were on a reconnaissance mission and were prioritizing their objective in locating Bumblebee (B-127), so timing was of the essence. Their arrogance underestimated humanity's resolve and determination.
