Might be my imagination, might be a trope; 2 Predator nods?
When Hec's foot is removed from between the logs and he screams out the camera cuts to low sun jungle scenery and flying birds can be heard. I'd say this is a pretty strong nod to Predator which has similar footage and sounds when the titular character is repairing a wound.
Prior to this in the movie Bella attacks a warthog/boar. The camera work is very similar to that of the character Mac from Predator killing what he thought was his enemy under that same old full moon.
Purely my imagination picking up on these things or did anyone else get a feeling of Predator in these scenes?
