Bruce Willis Refused to Shoot Scenes

Listening to this Week's Hollywood Babble-On (Released August 17th, 2015). Ralph Garman told a story of how he was supposed to be in this movie. Apparently Brice Willis walked off the set multiple times as he was either "Too Tired!", or didn't think the scene was good enough. Or maybe he is just "Greedy and Lazy!"

Bruce is such an a$$&0le.

This guy is a nightmare.

He needs to get together with Barbra Hershey. Worst human being I've ever come across.

I heard this on BabbleOn and felt really bad for Ralph. It beggars belief that someone as sucessful and privileged as Willis can be so ungrateful, unprofessional and spoiled. The guy needs a reality check.

reply

Look at his film credits. In the last 10 years he has had small and large roles in 30 or so movies. He keeps getting paid. There is no reality check coming, just the check with all the zeros.

But, look at the directors he has been working with, very few big names (Wes Anderson, Richard Linklater, Richard Donner in his last movie (hmmm, i wonder why?))

So maybe that's his punishment. But there are lots of young, more or less unknown, directors who think Bruce Willis is their ticket to box office triumph and future recognition. These hungry auteurs will keep Bruce working for a long, long time. Every once in a while, even in a good movie.

Looper was quite recent, and that worked out for everybody. Now the director is making a Star Wars.

No it was rather lame. I read the original script back when it was working its way through studios and production companies. And was given a chance to see how it was suppose to work. Disney put it together using both Mel Gibson and Harrison Ford playing both the younger and older character using images of both actors in their young versions of themselves from their previous movies. It was crude a bit because they were still working on the CGI stuff. Harrison bowed out thinking he was too old for the role and some of his younger images didn't work or didn't mesh with his current age. Something was off. But, the Mel stuff looked great. And, then nothing for years. I thought it was very clever idea and something people hadn't seen anything like this before. Other actors showed some interest, Tom Cruise (He still looks the same since Top Gun), Brad Pitt were mentioned but both actors haven't aged enough to show the changes and some just weren't up to the challenge of playing the younger and older characters who would be in almost every scene, twice. Eventually Disney dropped out of the project (I'm guessing the cost would be extremely high and they would need permission from other studio's to use the images that were chosen from the actors previous movies) and then nothing and went into turnaround again. Then, suddenly I learned it was back and Bruce Willis signed on. He wasn't my first choice but okay, there's enough stuff out there they could pull images of a younger Bruce who unfortunately had hair back then. Then they announced they were looking for a young actor to play the younger character and chose Joseph Gordon-Levitt? Who looks nothing like Bruce and they don't have the same face shape. Bruce has a strange egg shaped head. The only other actor with the same or closest to is Adam Sandler, who doesn't have the acting chops to pull it off. Bruce has green eyes and Joey has brown. I was so disappointed in the movie because I was allowed a very rare glimpse of what it could have been and to have seen the mock version which was so amazing... to this. They had a great opportunity to change the way an audience could see a movie that was unique, different and I think and believed it would have blown people's mind. Instead they chose what was less expensive and easier. It's a shame.

It's sad because I really liked Bruce Willis but ever since Kevin Smith told his story working on Cop Out, it's impossible to respect Willis.

That said, Did the Cullen's learn nothing from their time on set during Cop Out? They know what Bruce can be like. Bruce got along with Kevin during Die Hard 4 and did a complete 180 on Cop Out completely ignoring Kevin. What made the Cullen's think it would be any different with them?

He's allowed his fame to take over his personality and it's gone to his head. He seems to abuse his power over a film and the people working with him. When I first saw the 2 hour pilot of Moonlighting, I can still remember how much I laughed out loud, he was so funny, he had an unique way of delivering lines. I told my mom and dad he's gonna be a huge star. He's forgotten where he came from as a struggling actor trying to make a living to a man with an enormous ego, vain, narcissistic, who bullies people on film sets, intimidating anyone who gets in his way. That's not the man I saw on the Moonlighting pilot. Sure he was cocking and I don't mind cocking so long as it's done in jest and not mean-spirited. Now its mean spirited and I don't like the man or the actor anymore. Remember Bruno? I liked his alter ego Bruno the harmonica player, sometime singer and someone who didn't take himself so seriously. He was fun. He's become a parody of himself the same way Stallone and Arnold were laughed at and made fun of for choosing movies that were lame and ridiculous. Arnold still hasn't learned but Stallone reevaluated his career and he didn't like being the bunt of jokes. He's made significant changes to his life and movie career. I can't believe he was nominated for an Academy Award last year, 40 years after Rocky. Bruce has the option to change the direction of his career he can do what Stallone did or repeat Arnold's mistakes (although Arnold wasn't much of an actor more like a personality placed in a lame movie.) I don't like actors who behave in the matter that he has done or treat people so poorly because he thinks he's better then everyone else. The way he's churning out 6 films a year and returns to play John McClain one more time, I scene some desperation there, trying to find the magic and popularity he once had. Bye Bruce, bring back Bruno.

Bruce Willis is a very experienced actor with a lot of fans. He has done several movies for free just to help out the director (i.e. his uncredited rolls in Astronaunt Farmer,Nancy Drew, and a few others). Almost every actor has bad days, the same as regular people do. This man is not the names you call him, and so what if he is not out there making these HUGE movies anymore. Many actors from his generation are not. The man is a great actor, and this fan will forever watch his movies over anyone else's. Yippee-Kai-Yay and Merry Christmas.

Having met and worked with Bruce Willis, he is taxing, but he cares about the projects he's involved in. If he thinks you are a fool or under-prepared, he will walk off. Many, many older actors do this.

This what people don't care to realize. In regards to Kevin Smith... you think Willis was ONE BIT impressed with this fat pot head dick and fart joke twat? No. He *beep* with Smith cuz he didn't have his *beep* together.

You Suck...now deal with it.

reply

I agree. Kevin Smith is an idiot, a guy who think is way much more talented than he really is.

And i hate the fact Smith always has to trash other people to get attention. He trashed Prince in An Evening With Kevin Smith, talking over 30 minutes about how difficult Prince was.

Woody Allen fired him in 2016 on day 3, I got through my first year of motherhood because of his character in Moonlighting, I have a story there, but I'd never gone to an action movie in my life, my daughter was 3 when Die Hard came out, I felt honestly that I owed him one and I went on opening night. I've loved the genre ever since and the movies are better because of what he brought. Having said all of that, the guy has lost it, he's a mess, makes a new enemy every chance he gets and at this point it would seem to be pathological. Name one decent film since Looper, they are worse than what Nick Cage CHOSE to do with his career! Who, Oliver Stone has given a come back to decency role to in his upcoming Snowden.
