Did they intentionally make this season hard to follow? I mean I'm all for limiting the exposition, but between all the hallucinations and back and fourth, this is kind of difficult to follow. Right from the start I felt like I missed an episode somewhere. Hopefully it starts to make more sense later.

shareI think this season was awful. Billy McBride doesn't work in a rural setting, among many other problems. Amy Brenneman acts her ass off, but the whole situation is so unrealistic and weird that it doesn't make any sense.

It was. . .different. I can see how that would turn some people off. I just enjoyed the hell outta the acting; it was worth watching for the performances alone.
Curious what you thought was "unrealistic" about the story, though. . .you Do realize that it's based on true events, yes? 90% of it actually Did happen. . .
While I can see a conspiracy to steal groundwater and some local ranch family dynasty benefiting, the whole taking hallucinogens and general weirdness seems to break my verisimilitude.
