I really wish shows/movies would stop with running music over dialogue. One or the other, please.

As often happens in this situation, I can't always hear the dialogue clearly. And with this show...first episode so far...I'm having enough trouble understanding some of the accents without going back and listening a second time. Plus, some of the actors are a bit mumbly.

First, make sure you have some good sound guys, and second, no music when people are talking.

I know exactly what you mean. It can get annoying and the tactic is used in several shows.
My work around is closed captioning. I started watching TV with cc a few years ago and I love it. I don't need it but, you'd be surprised the dialogue missed because of music or noise
