Poor execution
Personally, I think the premise was great and story was fine. I also think Jason Momoa was brilliant, the first scene gave me high expectations indeed.
However the direction seems poor, everything is rushed, impactful moments don't linger for effect and there's a general lack of visual style. One two shot dialogue scenes, straight cuts to straight shots, little to no dynamic shots or angles etc etc. It's like the DOP has just went in with a point and shoot attitude.
Such a shame. A bit of visual flair could elevate this to something worth taking a bit more seriously.
