Season 3

Is anyone else finding season 3 to be absolutely one of the most stupid shows ever made?

I liked season 1 and season 2. They weren't the best out there, but I thought they were very enjoyable. Season 3 is totally ridiculous! Not scary, too much sex - both hetero and gay - completely outlandish and unrealistic, as though a fifteen year old without much life experience wrote and directed it! And, if that's not bad enough, it's extremely political, and they're trying to make some type of social justice statement in almost every scene!

From the inept police officers to the extremely stereotypical characters - and I mean EXTREMELY STEREOTYPICAL - to the ridiculous dialog and a villain who seems almost bionic - it's just an amateurish mess!!

I hate to give such a bad review but this is really, really bad and such a disappointment to me as I was looking forward to another season of this show.

If I'm going to be honest, Season 3 is the first one I had no expectations for and really until they closed it out I was enjoying it. I remember seeing the trailer for season 1 and expecting this Michael Myers type of treatment, but was ultimately let down. Then I realized they had an actual season 2 and watched that trailer. And thought OH, maybe a Friday the 13th type of story, but again I really came out of it disappointed with the expectation. When I watched the trailer for season 3, no single franchise really jumped out at me. Going into it I was going to treat it like any insert "_____ Day" or "_____House Massacre" type of series. Just watch it to see how they kill people. And, yeah with no expectations and just wanting to see how people die I was entertained more than the previous seasons.

Well, glad you liked it. It just goes to show how people's tastes can vary :-)

I'm 2 episodes in and this is the biggest social justice cringe fest I've ever seen, which is saying a lot in today's climate.

Nearly turned it off completely after the 'mansplaining' line

Glad I'm not the only one who thought so.

I just finished season 3 and I really liked it. Yeah they had some pretty basic stereotypes but slasher movies have always kinda played off the stereotypes of the day. The things I especially liked were the gore effects that I thought were above average, the mystery as I truly didn't know who the killer would be revealed to be, and yeah the wide spectrum of (albeit stereotypical) characters; I found them interesting.

To me it really captured the feel of a good slasher movie. And as far as being too politically correct or a statement about social justice, consider the following spoilers (don't read below if you haven't completed the season):

- Although the Muslim girl was the overall hero of the story, the white supremacist was also a survivor and a hero, who when the chips were down was willing to help both a gay man and a Muslim.
- The show wasn't afraid to kill off all 3 of its gay and bi-sexual characters
- The show wasn't afraid to make a black man and woman the killer(s)

After reading your post I decided to watch the last episode of season 3. I couldn't bear to watch episodes 3 - 7 but, based on your list of spoilers I became intrigued and did watch the last episode, just to see how everything was wrapped up.

They did make up for the extreme stereotyping I mentioned (don't want to get too particular for those reading who haven't seen it but you understand) by making you-know-who a hero at the end. I also liked the twist at the very end when they showed who was actually responsible for spreading the post about Kit's death.

The basement, however, was way over the top, completely unbelievable - to me anyway :-)

Assuming you're a fan of horror for checking out this show to begin with, skim through the episodes you skipped and check out a couple of the kills in them. I thought they were really well done. My biggest pet peeve when it comes to horror is an over-reliance on CGI effects and I didn't find that to be the case for most of the show.

I'm with you. I couldn't wait until it was over, in fact, I fast forwarded through maybe the final 10 minutes or so of the last episode. The dramatic over-the-top mom and her equally dramatic over-the-top wife. Those two alone ruined it for me! And of course, everyone lives in the same apartment building. Absolute stupid garbage.

The writers of this series - and the last season - are INCAPABLE of writing nice characters. Regardless of their race/gender/sexuality, almost everyone is just a nasty POS.
