Being a "movie snob" has nothing to do with finding humor in films, and I personally despise this type of parody movie. I'm sure I like plenty of stupid movies, but I feel like the ratings for this film speed for themselves.
shareMarlon's not funny, and neither are his movies. They're just slapped together parodies of other people's work. But neanderthal moviegoers like you will still go see them, so Marlon will always have work.

shareThis movie has to appeal to an odd demographic. To get most the jokes you had to see 50 Shades of Grey. Primary audience of that is middle aged mostly white women. However middle aged white women aren't going to go for this at all.

Clearly. But how many Marlon Wayans fans saw Fifty Shades of Grey. Maybe there is a bigger than expected crossover but not likely. Scream and Scary Movie have a lot of demographic cross over same with don't be a menace and life in the hood dramas, haunted house and horror movies same thing, more than 50% of the jokes in this movie will go over the head of someone who hasn't seen Grey.

Maybe it's simply down to the fact that Wayans expects his built in audience to go out and see ANY of his spoofs regardless of whether or not that audience has ever seen or is even that familiar with the particular movie that's being spoofed by him; I really couldn't say honestly. I suppose I'm just quite surprised that there's still even that much of an audience out there anymore for this guy's continually, and embarrassingly, contrived output of 'spoof' movies. Then again The Kardashians have their legions of admirers too don't they?

He's not a bad actor... but hasn't been in a good movie since Scary Movie 1. And that even sucks if you watch it now a days. He was almost the lead in a Harmony Korine Movie.... As a hitman that wears a dollar bill suit. He would of been great in it. Most of you don't know who Harmony Korine is... Henst why your on the fifty shades of black message boards. Why am I on this board? Too much time to kill at work...
