So basically bringing Harry back makes no sense at all...

But it does not bother me one bit. Eggsy was pretty great but Harry was the best part about the first movie. My biggest worry about the sequel was the fact that he would not be in it. So I'll take any explanation;genetic mutations, cybernetic enhancements, robo cop style revival, even cloning so long as it means he makes an appearance in the sequel. I am so pumped for this movie. John wick 2 is probably the only thing I am more excited about.

want to see what they'll do with Colin's character...the movie can't be focused on his mentorship anymore...Eggsy is already an official Kingsman and it gets old to have more of the same, the character dynamics change if they are no longer mentor/trainee..they need to make things fresh..

reply

Movie rules we did not see his body so is he dead.....

reply

I thought we did. Wasn't he shot in the head on camera?

reply

I'm thinking he will come back as a computer program / hologram. That they have a simulation of his mind inside a computer and he will be a kind of Obi-Wan character.

reply

If he were a hologram, why would his glasses have a black patch on the left lens (as it shows on the poster referring to his character) ? It would make no sense at all. I believe he somehow survived the gunshot.

reply

If you notice, the camera showed his body from a far distance and you don't see his face after the shot.

Also, there's no follow up, no funeral, no shot of his body after the fact, they went straight to the climax of the film.

I think that was deliberate in case the film scores well and gets a sequel, then they can bring Colin(Harry) back.

Egerton is good, but Colin was better.

reply

Rumors say his glasses had some sort of bulletproof system that blocked the bullet, which ricocheted off and hit Harry on the shoulder, which resulted in the blood spurt. And Harry faked death.

reply

We did in profile and there was a flash of blood, but Valentine turned his head before firing, so they could say he missed and just shot Harry's eye, or something. I don't know who he'd come back as though. I'd assume Eggsy became Galahad in Harry's wake.

reply

He could have become Arthur, since he poisoned himself

reply

Well if Eggsy became "Galahad",as is suggested by the movie climax, there would be no room for Harry to reclaim his old identity. Having him step up to be Arthur as an experienced agent and more forward thinking than the "old"Arthur, would make a perfectly sensible move for the Kingsman organisation to make.

Perhaps Harry will be the new Arthur.

Never trust a black man named "Chip." 

reply

Eyepatch maybe? a la Carl from Walking Dead.

reply

Agreed, so looking forward to this sequel. I watched the first film without really knowing much about the plot or reading any reviews and it was a pleasant surprise. Colin Firth especially was great in it so I'm glad he's back and I don't care one bit if they have to use a ridiculous plot twist to do it.

reply

I'm willing to bet it is explained that the bullet hit his glasses, which were bulletproof and deflected the shot enough that it didn't kill him. If you notice Valentine turns his head before he takes the shot so he isn't fully aiming at him. I'm betting Harry comes back with an eye patch and explains what happened to Eggsy.

That's actually inaccurate. I watched Kingsman again last night and you clearly see Harry take the shot to the head and blood burst out the back before he crumples to the ground. There's no "ricocheting bullet" or "deflecting glasses." Bullet goes in, blood comes out.

Let's not ignore that one can be shot in the head and survive, as rare as it may be.

Realistically, anything we as fans come up with is conjecture until the filmmakers share more. But I loved Harry's character and Colin Firth's presentation.

reply

i watched it and you see a profile and blood shoot out from the back, BUT that can easily be him getting shot in the side of his head.

reply

He's in the cast it doesn't mean he's alive, he might only be in memories or as an hologram at the table or something.

reply

You should look better at the poster which says "Reports of my death have been greatly exaggerated". It is obviously referring to Colin Firth's character and the glasses show a black patch on the left eye, where he was shot. In my opinion, he somehow survived (although he probably lost an eye in the process) and will appear in the flesh, not as a memory or hologram of some sort.

1 in 10 people survive from head-shot wounds and Valentine wasn't exactly aiming properly...

Man, that saying that goes "80% of all internet statistics are made up on the spot" has never been truer to me.

Bottom of page: For some lucky people, if the bullet velocity is high and there is no side to side movement (wobble) and it passes through non-critical parts of the brain, less damage occurs and survival is possible.

reply

... I know that some people have survived gunshot wounds.
Why are you trying to divert away from the fact that my comment was on your ridiculous "one in ten" claim?

Hihi, I hope you never expected sense from a sequel to a film in which the bad guys' heads went off like fireworks. :D I'm looking forward to seeing how will they get out of the Harry mess too. Should be fun. Maybe he was a robot or something.

reply

I am sure you all gonna like what's coming :)

reply

I cant wait to see the movie and see how it is explained.

Lose the Game!!!!!!!

reply

Agree with you. He was by far the best character, and would be my only reason for watching the sequel.
