Deceptive Casting
The casting of this movie is highly deceptive.
The "Hero" is Deborah Lipstadt. If you haven't Googled her yet, she looks like someone dropped a dumpster on her head and squished her face flat. Of course, the producers of this film cast the ravishingly beautiful Rachel Weisz. Even in a bad wig, she is gorgeous.
The "Villain" is the guy best known for playing a rat/wizard in the Harry Potter movies, Timothy Spall. He is not a handsome man. Despite what you may think of the real David Irving, he does not look like a rat-man.
IMHO, this would've been a better movie if they had cast a plain or flat-out ugly actress to play Lipstadt and a more rugged, handsome man to play Irving. There might have been more sympathy towards her plight, a sort of "little guy defeats the big guy" kind of story.
