Another good show bites the dust.

There is also good news: They have enough material to do a third season. I’ve not yet seen episode 2.10, but it seemed it was heading to a narrative conclusion. The producers want a third season. Starz placed an upfront order for two seasons, then did . . . let me think . . . wait for it . . . here it comes . . . NOT ONE THING TO PROMOTE COUNTERPART. Counterpart has lead-in promos for Shameless and the whereabouts of Judge Crater, but the network completely ignores this brilliant series. It’s not shipped to Netflix, Prime or Hulu, where it could build an audience. I hope that HBO picks it up. It is a thinking adult’s science fiction series, with acting and writing in my opinion that is universally more satisfying than Westworld or Game of Thrones (both of which I love) at a fraction of the budget. So, let me get this straight: Starz keeps American Gods, from which more staff personnel have jumped after its first season than the number of rats who fled the Titanic, and whose production costs HAVE to dwarf those of Counterpart, but they scrub the superior series? Is that about the size of it? Is Starz being run by Management from Over There?

As Dan Rather said every night, “Courage.”

On a personal note, I want to say that I have always found the discussion here on the Counterpart area encouraging and satisfying. I wish that more of MC could be like this: engaged, informed, intelligent, civil, encouraging. I think that we all know that Counterpart is not for everyone, and that’s okay—both for us, and for those who don’t get pleasure from it. What I really appreciate is the paucity of attacks on the show here, written by people who are not the show’s target audience, in distinction to, say, Westworld (another series that I love) that is promoted MUCH more than Counterpart and therefore draws viewers for whom it is just not suited. I want to thank all of you who post here. I appreciate you all.

Oh you're effin' kidding me...

Damn it... I'm so sick of the banal main stream media killing brilliant shows, yet keeping dancing with the morons and every cooking show under the sun for 50 seasons...

You know, i’d much rather watch cooking shows than anything on ESPN, the default programming choice for the brain dead and flabby; but programs such as Counterpart, at worst, find a place in Cult Heaven. At best, they find a new home. Hope: don’t bet against it.

Agreed !

Here's to hoping there is a next season, even if sourced differently.. as long as it remains on the same path.
