Disappointing…

This movie started strong and had tons of potential yet it seemed like they insisted on making many nonsensical scenes instead of building up a progressively intense and logical story. Ex: One minute the girl says to the other: “What are you doing outside? We can’t leave now.” Then she goes inside, rummage through the house a bit only to come back outside a few minutes after to the same girl and tell her: “We have to leave now!!” Yet nothing seemed to have happened to explain that reaction. There’s another part where they are tied up to a chair and the scene after we see the two girls running around the house looking for something. Also, when they are on the side of the road fighting (for nothing) after their escape with the loot one gets hit by a car out of nowhere then she reappears in the house, tied to a chair and unarmed. At this point, we are well aware that nothing that happens is of any importance and I stopped caring. It would’ve been nice to have this cool, trippy and weird movie make more sense. When it tried to be violent (like, those 2 or 3 times) it was successful and effective. When it tried to be clever (or confusing) it was really not. The cinematography looked awesome, the first 25 minutes was like a 7.5. and the l rest was a 5 as I barely understood anything at all. Here is a review that express my sentiment in way better words: https://rue-morgue.com/movie-review-braid-is-less-a-movie-and-more-a-vanity-project/ my rating: 5/10

It is quite a mishmash, isn't it, Stony?

It goes from point A to point B without really connecting the dots. The story I think it is trying to tell is that sometimes the object of ours desires can trap us into a place where we struggle to understand what actually makes us happy in life, trying to constantly chase it; always within grasp of reaching for it; and always unsuccessful. It's all very reminesent of the ancient story of Giglamesh, who attempted to achieve eternal life but failed due to his own hubris despite having many noble personal traits.

By the way, thanks for the link.
Keep rockin'!

Hey, what’s up TwinA!

I see what you mean but I think the movie failed to convey that message with most of the audience and although I don’t ask to be spoon fed story wise, I think it’s a big disappointment on that matter.

Cheers
