Shows not bad...just lose the lesbian

no problem with the LGBT crowd, she just seems like she's in a different show

again, no problem that she's a lesbian, just don't buy they'd be hanging out

next season, remedy that

thanks

I would love to see Leslie Jones in this show. She would have been a great lesbian.

Of course, a lot of people think she's annoying, but I think she's hilarious in small doses. And this part isn't very big.

reply

No, just... no. Leslie Jones might be the least funny female comedic (if you can even call what she does 'comedic') actress out there. I'm a huge SNL fan and while I'm come to accept that these past 2-3 seasons would be a rebuilding period cast-wise which would cause the content of the show to suffer, Leslie Jones has not made me laugh even once in a skit. She is obnoxious, that is all.

Well, she makes people laugh and gets a nice chunk of change for doing it, so yes I'd say she's a (professional) comedian so what she does must be comedic.

that is all.

Is it?

If you have Hulu, go back and watch a few of this season's SNL episodes. You could pick at random and no matter which episode you pick you will hear the strained laughter during her lines. It's as if the audience has to will the laughter out of themselves so as to not be rude.

I do have Hulu and I have seen this season's SNL episodes.

Cool. Now you're psychoanalyzing the laughter of hundreds of complete strangers. I wouldn't use this as definitive proof you are correct.

It's as if the audience has to will the laughter out of themselves so as to not be rude.

It's as if that inside your head.

Seriously, can't you just not like her? Why does it have to be anyone who laughed at her was faking? Are you an only child? You should be able to handle people disagreeing with you much better than this. You seriously think that hundreds (if not thousands) of people were faking laughter b/c they didn't want to be rude?

Wow. It's that level of bat $h*t crazy that keeps me coming back to IMDB. 

No, it's called looking at the evidence. The crowd reactions/laughter are much lower than any other actor when either Leslie Jones or Kyle Mooney are the ones making the jokes. That isn't psychoanalyzing anything, it's beign observant.

You should be able to handle people disagreeing with you much better than this.

Better how? I'm presenting observations. That's about as straightforward as it gets. Your passive aggressive tone is the only childish facet of this conversation.

You seriously think that hundreds (if not thousands) of people were faking laughter b/c they didn't want to be rude?

Umm, yes, because it happens everywhere. Ever been in a crowd that claps or gives a standing ovation where large quantities of people clearly don't want to partake but then, in a delayed response, decide to take part in the clapping or standing ovation? Same exact premise. Now please take your idiocy elsewhere, like the Transformers 3 message board.

No, it's called looking at the evidence.

You mean your opinion? That's not really evidence. Sorry.

I'm presenting observations. Your passive aggressive tone is the only childish facet of this conversation.

No, you presenting your observations as facts is far more childish than anything I've done in this thread.

Umm, yes, because it happens everywhere.

Where? Should be easy since you say it happens "everywhere".

Ever been in a crowd that claps or gives a standing ovation where large quantities of people clearly don't want to partake but then, in a delayed response, decide to take part in the clapping or standing ovation?

Nope.

Same exact premise.

I disagreed with you. So you don't get to "move on" as if I had.

Now please take your idiocy elsewhere, like the Transformers 3 message board.

I'm sorry, but this again...

If you are not a fan that's fine, but don't act like your opinion is fact. It's not. Maybe you should move on to the Transformers 3 board?

I told you there was a conductor

I think a ton of the characters' bad acting is distracting. From order of most to least: the token lesbian, gratingly quirky gf, friendly Jewish(?) giant, and his parents acting... however, obvi not distracting enough to be unwatchable.

On a side note, it's kinda funny that you felt dissing one character might make you sound like a homophobe :D

reply

The fact that the lesbian character and the lead parents are amateur actors would normally be a huge turn off for me. For some reason in this context it just seems charming. I love the show.

reply

I agree. I loved his parents so much. I didn't care about their acting they just charmed me!!

reply

Um, no.

thanks

You forgot to book end your comment with reminding us you have no problem with LGBT. Why do you hate them so much?

reply

God, you re a moron. That is exactly what he/she did.

I don;t agree; the actress is ok, nothing special, just serviceable. But that could be said of a number of the actors in this series.

reply

God, you re a moron. That is exactly what he/she did.

You're the moron if you can't tell that user was being sarcastic. Awkward.

If I don't reply, you're probably on my ignore list for something I forgot already

And you re a clueless little douche. I m not a mind reader, dumb ass. The OP said they had no problem with LGBT characters, just this character being a bad fit for the show. I believe them, but disagreed, liking both the actress and the person being portrayed.

reply

@renton007

Whatever---I just love the fact that the show is diverse, and not just another tired-a** show about white millenials---it dosen't need to lose anyone or anything. Except the main character could stand to date a more diverse range of women and stop acting like only white women are the only ones he can get with, and stop placing them as the default for a change like every other damn show does.

Do you mean the 3 white girls he dated the entire series? Oops, I mean that ONE white woman b/c the bartender and the married chick were never seen again after their episodes.

Yes, all those white women? Those........one white "women"?

reply

It's sad that you have to emphasize that you have no problem with the LGBT community for not liking the lesbian character. The politically correct sharks are everywhere and they are always hungry.

I believe you and also kind of agree but hey, it's NYC, so I guess it could be possible. And I don't care if people think I'm homophobic or racist or whatever.
