No. Spider-Man 2 won for Best Visual Effects in 2004.

No surprise. I would’ve been kinda shocked if it didn’t win given all the momentum it had going on and just the fact that it’s that good.

Now disregarding the few grumps that will oppose this win (spare me the “can’t stand their politics” ad nauseam), its main win is hugely deserving. Though I would have been fine with maybe one of the other films in this category taking the win, I know I’m far from alone when I say Into the Spider-Verse was ground-breaking.

Totally deserved. Not only because it was the best of the bunch, but it also brings back hope to this category that it doesn't always go to Disney.
