Lucas Black will show up at the end when Dom includes to the team

Unfortunately gonna have wait till #9 for a major role. It's looking so painfully obvious now.
The weird thing about this franchise is that Sean Boswell isn't really a character until Part 6 in timeline. So he's a new character in the series, even if he's not in real life in that so called spin-off a decade ago.

That may be the case but if we at least get confirmation he'll have a major part in 9, I'll be happy with that.

Hopefully he'll be done with his stupid ass NCSI show or whatever by then.
This is his chance to play with the big dogs and get noticed in Hollywood.
Tokyo Drift didn't necessarily make good money.

reply

If you mean $150,000,000 isn't good money, then yeah, you're right!

For this franchise they expect more even after the first 2 movies.

reply

He'll probably appear in a main role around the third act.

The problem is that Lucas Black hasn't been confirmed yet to be in the movie, meanwhile Helen Mirren has been cast and she apparently has only one day on set.

At this point he may be a cameo again, unless they are keeping a secret or something to make it seem like he isn't going to be in the movie (happened with Donnie Wahlberg's character in Saw 3 IIRC).

From Brazilian facebook fan page "Velozes e Furiosos"
"Unfortunately it was confirmed to be a small part of it, but we do not know so far how it goes. The recordings end in August, and so far no news of him, I believe that is hidden or filming will record at the end of the same recordings in 7"

reply

I agree it's profits were down on the first 2 movies, however, after walking away with $90,000,000+ in the bank of the production company, I don't think they would be complaining too much.

Also keep in mind, 10 years ago this movie wasn't the billion dollar franchise it is today.

You have a point, but as far as a 4th film.. it was never gonna happen without Vin Diesel involved. They couldn't afford it. The studio needed him back, so they revived it with the original cast.

If there is one thing I'm completely indifferent to with this franchise, it's Lucas Black's character.

What's missing in movies is same as in society: a good sense of work ethic and living up to ideals.

reply

It'd be great if they brought him back for one scene just to kill him off.

reply

Fu*k that. If they want Tokyo Drift to completely fit in with the franchise, then they need to add him into Dom's crew.
Personally i think Tokyo Drift is better than 2 Fast 2 Furious. Oh, but it's ok to keep the black dudes in.
