If you're a man (of any race) in 2015, you're the problem...

...says Hollywood and the media at large...

reply

I know, and every facet of the entertainment industry at the moment is being besieged and "sacrificed" to promote this horridly futile agenda.

reply

If anything, more recently, there's men' men's rights activist type reaction all over the internet against this feminist, man-hating BS, and it's only going to get worse for them now.

reply

Haven't seen the movie so I won't prejudge it, but yes, male-hate is far too prevalent in today's culture - after all "we live in a world of male violence" and suffer the social effects of "testosterone poisoning" and other such radical feminist cliches. Spike Lee is a male, duh. Maybe the film isn't really anti-male. Maybe Spike sees some merit in males. I don't know. But if he's made an anti-male film, I hope his box office status falls flat on its butt.

reply

So those are signs that this anti-male BS ain't working too good and is probably only cooking up a major backlash, which is already in progrss. A Voice for Men gets more internet traffic than any feminist website, although the media wouldn't want you to know this. Also men's rights activist type channels on YouTube are becoming more numerous and growing all the time so the fight back against it is already happening fortunately.

Btw, funny you say that "maybe Spike Lee sees some merit in males". Umm, hopefully for any moral consistency he does. Think about it: black people in general for years have been viewed with very little merit by many people because they were black. Now it seems your saying, after all that humiliation, black men still have to suffer being seen with little merit, this time not so much because they're black but because they are men. I'm hoping Spike Lee wouldn't be this ridiculous, non-sensical, and self-defeating/loathing. But I guess one could make an argument he doesn't see much merit in black/women either, since according to this movie their greatest merit seems to be all down to their sexuality.

reply

Sigh, look up Lysistrata. It's a Greek satire about how women have power over men because they can control access to sex. And it's explicitly what the plot of this film is.

If you think that's an anti-male message then you're just an idiot.

reply

The whole culture is founded on violence, imperialism, conquest, colonialism, bombings, embargoes, slavery, exploitation, torture, rape, brutality, etc. It's a silly idea that women have be power to stop it. Boycotts are so effective too. And why should all women withhold sex and not just the ones whose men are violent criminals like Obama, Bush/Cheney, Clinton, Bush Sr, Reagan, Nixon, and every other president and politician for the past 70 years or so? The boycott idea is a joke and it won't work until he white women whose husbands are destroying the world also participate.

reply

Really it goes back to the beginning of industrial mass market civilization and killing native people around the world. People won't boycott that who embrace all the wealth they have stolen and the benefits they reaped.

reply

That's a part of human history, conquest. Bemoaning what happened to primitive cultures eons ago doesn't do you any favors. It's not fair. It just is. That doesn't give anyone a free license to act like a wild beast in modern so-called civilized society.

Well said if you're a racist. And primitive culture? Slavery ended 150 years ago. There are people alive today who remember relatives telling them about slavery. Jim Crow ended 50 years ago. There are plenty of people who remember that time. To say that the subjugation of people is too primitive when there are people who remember it is...well it's dumb racist propaganda. But hey it's the internet, what else should I expect?

It continues to this day. It's not in the past. That's what the dominant culture wants you to believe. The native people are still being cheated, treaties being broken, their health destroyed on reservations and so on. The system won't stop until all who resist are destroyed or assimilated, like the Borg. That is modern capitalism.

reply

Maybe their husbands should withhold sex from them....Or ban all didos until the Ayn Rands, Margaret Thatchers, Hilary Clintons, Angela Merkels, etc, of the world stop their own destruction too.

reply

Go to college and learn to read literature and you might be less likely to spout the latest dogma irrespective of whether it has anything to do with the subject under discussion.

reply

You could be right. I haven't seen this but am familiar with the original story 'Lysistrata' by Aristophanes. The funny thing is, sometimes people are so determined to tell a sexist message...I.E. 'men are violent and women will do anything to stop said violence' They accidentally put in another message..."Women rule the world" If you cheer this story then by definition, you believe the latter. Men only do what women allow us to do.

reply

"Men only do what women allow us to do"

Not unless you have balls and your own brain to go along with it. That's a terrible belief dude, and it's not true for any real man. It's wrong and immoral to follow the dicates of others (whether it's an evil tyrant, or a pushy domineering woman), you have to assert your freedom as an individual human being. Any man (or woman for that matter) who doesn't do that I wouldn't even consider a man.

Your your own individual bud, you don't do what someone else "allows" you to do, you do what you want to do, as long as it's within reason.
