Spike's new film is refreshingly playful,powerful, artistic and experimental. You won't see any major director take chances like he does. There are certainly high points and not so high points but I was riveted throughout and at times ecstatic. And at times amazed at Spikes brave over the top attempt to go all out wacky. Plus he has something important to say and is a voice we need to hear. Keep at it Spike!

I think Spike has always had this kind of filmmaking in him. Look at School Daze for example or even Bamboozled. Him using comedy to reflect serious subject matter is nothing new but he definitely brought some great new ideas to this film.

I don't believe in new ideas personally. Like literally. So I hate it when someone says "it's nothing new."

That's exactly what I thought when I saw this. If School Daze and Bamboozled had a child, it would be this movie. Main problem was that it went way over a lot of people's heads.
