Is this based on the Fed Ex mid-air collision?

I read a while ago a Fed Ex plane collided with a passanger airliner in mid-air at cruising altitude. Is this film based off of that?

Its based on a mid-air collision over Germany, one of the planes was a DHL Cargo.

Yes, I believe so. In that true crash, the father also finds a necklace he recognizes from his family at the crash site (which was shown for a second in the movie trailer).
