Both of her parents ... brunette. Neither of them are auburn.

Barb is a red head ... the very small chance that both of her parents have recessive red hair genes is pretty slim.

Then again, I wonder what the milk man in Hawkins looks like.

Both of her parents could have carried the gene even if it didn’t seem like it. If not, then it’s a mystery (milk man aside). But stranger things have happened. :)
