Pretty poor title
It should be more powerful and more synomous to what happened than just Patriot Day
shareIt should be more powerful and more synomous to what happened than just Patriot Day
shareBut it's what happened on the celebrated Massachusetts holiday that makes it powerful. Coming from someone who lives in Massachusetts, it's very powerful
shareI also live in the area and disagree. It can easily be confused by other movies with similar names.
sharei agree here. Looking at the title, I did not associate the film with the Boston Marathon bombing. And I had lived in the Boston area for decades.
"617", "Boston Strong" or something similar would have made the connection far more concrete.
This one, which was originally to be just from Ed Davis' POV, purchased that one and merged them together.

Seems Massachusetts is the only state that still celebrates the actual start of the Revolution.

Mel Gibsons sequel ?? ?
shareIt's a great title. Patriot's Day is a day of celebration around the city that includes the Boston Marathon and a game at Fenway. It usually means a fun time was had by all. But on this Patriot's Day the terrorists tried to undo what it means but they didn't succeed.
I took the subway to Wayne Station and Batwalked up the road.
No, the terrorist tried to killed as many people as possible. It's the most popular marathon.
sharePoor seems too strong. I'd say it's simply too bland.
What's missing in movies is same as in society: a good sense of work ethic and living up to ideals.
Poor is not a strong word, it would be a synonym of bland.
shareIt's the name of the freakin' state holiday that the Marathon is held: http://www.lexingtonma.gov/patriotsday So it's apt, not bland.

First thing I thought. I read the thread and even though I fully understand why it's called that it still just sounds cheesy as *beep*
