It should be more powerful and more synomous to what happened than just Patriot Day

But it's what happened on the celebrated Massachusetts holiday that makes it powerful. Coming from someone who lives in Massachusetts, it's very powerful

I also live in the area and disagree. It can easily be confused by other movies with similar names.

i agree here. Looking at the title, I did not associate the film with the Boston Marathon bombing. And I had lived in the Boston area for decades.

"617", "Boston Strong" or something similar would have made the connection far more concrete.

It's a great title. Patriot's Day is a day of celebration around the city that includes the Boston Marathon and a game at Fenway. It usually means a fun time was had by all. But on this Patriot's Day the terrorists tried to undo what it means but they didn't succeed.

I took the subway to Wayne Station and Batwalked up the road.

No, the terrorist tried to killed as many people as possible. It's the most popular marathon.

Poor seems too strong. I'd say it's simply too bland.

What's missing in movies is same as in society: a good sense of work ethic and living up to ideals.

It's the name of the freakin' state holiday that the Marathon is held: http://www.lexingtonma.gov/patriotsday So it's apt, not bland.
