Mulan is Inspiring

Mulan the movie is as good as the cartoon except the dragon character is missing. The movie should be an inspiration for young ladies.

Ouch! I felt the burn in that. That Chinese government thinks their people can't rule properly themselves. Funny how they revolted during the last dynasty and then cultural revolution FOR THE PEOPLE only to be placed back in chains BY THE PEOPLE. As if the monarchy never truly ended. Imagine having an army for JUST A PARTY.

Actually, the Mulan story is not about freedom. It's about self-sacrifice to protect your family and to protect your country from foreign invaders. Mulan fights against the invaders, but she never rebels against the emperor.

What's inspiring about a girl who is already a total badass at age 10 because she has magical chi powers?

If you want an inspiration for young ladies, go rewatch the original. It's infinitely better.

Agreed. Having a rolemodel that has a magic force and kills lots of Mongolians is truly inspirational.

I hope young ladies will feel inspired and start to use their qi to kill any Mongolian on sight. 😄

This Mulan is just Ray from Star Wars. But this time the movie was shot right next door to the new Auschwitz.

So being able to do anything without training (see Rey) and being perfect at it at your first attempt is inspiring. Mary Sue's are not inspiring, they are boring.

Once again kicking the shit out of all male characters with ease and not breaking a sweat is not inspiring, it is getting tiresome. Will we see a female character anytime soon actually struggle with anything and be beaten before succeeding, you know the hero journey.

Nearly every male character in this film is only there to keep telling us how awesome Mulan is and how much better she is than her male counterparts.

This film is modern feminism 101.

Now with the alledged camps and what the lead actress stated about Honk Kong i'm glad this movie with lose Disney millions, it deserves to.

It is so far from inspiring i am amazed you can even write that sentence with a straight face.
