Did Bobby fool you ?

Michael Shannon did a fantastic job. When I went to his IMBD page I was surprised to see he actually is a good looking younger man. In the movie I would say he is in his late 50's early 60's. He really played the part well. And he fooled me. At first I feared he was going to be this mean, uncaring hometown cop who would not believe Tony or even try to help him. Or even worse, he knows ( or is related to ) the killers and would help them cover it up or maybe even be in on it ( the cop car flying by them and ignoring them on the road before the killings made me very suspicious) How could a cop out in the middle of nowhere completely ignore two cars and several people standing out in the middle of the road ?
As the film progresses the more I learn about Bobby the better I like him. He does care deeply and he is a good cop. He will not let these animals go unpunished. He is very supportive of Tony and tells him he is a good man and to not feel guilty about what happened to his family. That there was nothing he could have done. The man was dying yet showed compassion to Tony and helped him avenge the murders of his family. Great character and I will never forget him.

I got exactly the same impression from the character. We see more and more of Michael Shannon these days and it is better and better. It is funny we are talking about him instead of the movie. I was disappointing movie in general.

I was not disappointed. I think it was a good film in that it had excellent acting and writing. At times it made me uncomfortable but it never bored me. I cared about the characters and I wanted to know how it ended. I am a person that walks out on films that bore me. Some people have told me that it is a waste of money to do that. Well, if you bought a meal and it was not that good or totally bland would you keep forcing it down just because you paid for it ?

A bad meal will remain bad no matter how long you will wait nor pieces you will keep trying. A movie can start bad or boring but turn out to be good in the end, and if you'd only find out later after you left the movie theater it was indeed a waste of money.
