I kind of hated this film, but ONE THING IS SUPERB!

At first I thought, man this is really pretentious, style over substance and above all I thought Ford is not up to the challenge at all.

Then the parallel storylines hit me which really are a wonderful parabole of his suffering. And then the ABORTION. Tom Ford, Texan and humanist, clearly states that ABORTION is MURDER. His refined reversal of the liberal argument, in which only the women is a subject, is just brilliant. He gives us the other perspective. I love when a film does something as bold as this.

And he'll get away with it too. Most of the hollywood liberals are too dumb to understand such subtle cinematic offerings.

I think anybody on Earth can understand the metaphor, well people with at least SOME intelligence. Furthermore does this also mean you dislike Tarantino or Scorsese's "pretentious style over substance" films?

I thought this film was a masterpiece and I wish one day to create something of this standard.

reply

hmmm, i like both of them. Tarantino is a weird filmaker to call style over substance, you said it so..

So anybody on earth understood the Abortion is murder metaphor. Maybe, I hope so! Its very bold to do so in hollywood.

Dont know about it being a masterpiece, but this has grown significantly the last couple of days on me. Second viewing is a must.

reply

Abortion is immoral if you go back on so wanting to have a child; making it seem like you can have kids whenever like it's nothing. If a woman is forced or unilaterally seduced into having a child only to serve the satisfaction of her spouse, then they have the right to an abortion. In which case Susan is actually guilty of the abortion because she did once want to have his kid because she loved him, until her ma persuaded her into dropping both him and their future child all thanks to her mother's ill-foresight. Now. That. Is. Twisted. S###.

You've gotten this all wrong. You missed the whole point of the movie. This is not an anti-abortion message movie. And it certainly wasn't Ford's intent at all. I think he would just go crazy if that was your takeaway from this movie.

reply

Yeah, BOZO, hes really empowering women by giving them more power to do abortions. Its a pro choice movie for sure.

Maybe stupid Hillary supporters should go back to crying rather than posting here.

Its ONE of the things that drives the movie. And for me and the lucid kind THE MOST IMPORTANT THING OF THE MOVIE.

BTW, are you nervous? Those conservative judges be coming real soon. Bye, bye Roe v. Wade.

reply

That drove the movie for you. No mention about the horrible rape and violence the two women experienced. Nothing about the great performances and beautifully shot movie.

Did you see the scene with the mother - played beautifully by Laura Linney - did that go over your head too. Not a question.

reply

them judges be coming, boy. Texan Tom Ford"!

reply

Someone should be coming for you.

Roe v. Wade will not be overturned but may go back to the states. And again, this is not what this movie is about.

Tom Ford: Trump Voters ‘Not Educated Enough to Realize He Actually Doesn’t Have a Plan’ The "Nocturnal Animals" helmer had a few choice words about the 2016 presidential election and the Republican nominee.

the fashion designer-turned-director had a few choice words about Trump, saying, “Unfortunately, a lot of people are not educated enough to realize that he actually doesn’t have a plan, cannot even make a sentence, and that’s where we have failed as a country — through education.”

He also told Sky News that the fact that Trump has gotten as far is proof that our culture has “dumbed down.” “There was a time when any of the things he says would have killed a politician’s chances,” he said. “It’s absurd. What we’re going to do about it I don’t know — but it is a wake up call, and it’s very upsetting.”

I'd ignore you, but what the hell, your ass and all of your stupid posts will go down the IMDb board sewer in a few weeks anyway.

If you're a repulsive internet troll who enjoys debating the attractiveness of celebrities way out of your league, we've got some bad news. In the name of taste and decency, IMDb has decided to delete its discussion boards.

As Variety reports, the industry-leading film site has opted to ditch its boards after determining that they're "no longer providing a positive, useful experience."

The company released a statement about the decision, saying, "As part of our ongoing effort to continually evaluate and enhance the customer experience on IMDb, we have decided to disable IMDb's message boards on February 20, 2017. We regret any disappointment or frustration IMDb message board users may experience as a result of this decision."

Of course, anyone who has viewed the IMDb message boards knows that they were often safe-havens for repugnant comments that were misogynistic, racist and generally distasteful. This is certainly a move in the right direction.

IMDb also said they plan to introduce new features this year, though they haven't shared any details just yet.
