Feels like it's in the same universe as 28 days/weeks later

Honestly can't wait for this film, I think it looks fantastic and I love me some zombie type horror movies.

Most people are comparing it to The Last of Us, but I think if you watch the trailer, you could easily mistake this for being the third part of 28 days/weeks later...

You could leave the film as it is in the trailer, not even change a single frame or piece of dialogue and end it with the title '28 Months Later..." instead of the Girl with All the Gifts and I would buy it. Even the music sounds similar to it.

Also considering the fact that 28 Weeks Later involved the kids who were carrying the virus but weren't showing the rage symptoms as it affected others, this seems like it could have been a natural progression of that as some kids are carrying it but don't show symptoms until evoked.

I dunno, I just want 28 Months Later to happen since I love that series.

We posted about this on the same day saying pretty much the same things. I would have done it earlier, but was busy and didn't see your post when I got round to it.

Completely agree with you and was surprised up until we said this no one else has really picked up on it. They've totally raided from the 28 days/weeks later vault and I bet it was on the movie makers mood board when they were planning it. The book was written in 2014 so who knows maybe the writer even took inspiration from the films.

Be interested to see someone ask Danny Boyle what he thinks of this film. Paddy Considine is a legend and look forward to watching him perform.

as someone here said, it'd be called 128 months later, as the kids have grown up to the edge of adolescence.

As I watched this film I thought it would fit in nicely as a quiet interlude in World War Z. You'd flash up a caption something like "Meanwhile, in a quite disused base somewhere in SE England Melanie gets ready for her school lessons".
