The music soundtrack was excellent! very haunting.

the particular music track i loved was the main theme(?)/main song that plays at the beginning (all through the opening credits as well as several other parts in the film).

I agree. Very haunting score. Just one great aspect of a great film.

do you know what that main theme(?) track that i mentioned above is called? is it written specifically for the film or is it an actual music artist song that was used for the film? it's the track with the woman singing a chant-like word/sentence over and over.

I heard a very similar soundtrack in Utopia 2013, a UK TV series, except that that was much more haunting - I mean the entire series doubled by this sad and eeire soundtrack .

imranaki, i'm going to watch UTOPIA thanks to your comment! i never heard of the show before but after checking out the info on IMDB it sounds pretty interesting! the fact the show's music composer is the same one who composed the music in GIRL WITH GIFTS is an extra nice bonus!

IT is an amazing TV series, the second season a bit less so. Around the house we still ask 'Where is Jessica Hyde..." in spooky voices.

Personally, I thought the music was brilliant and a lot better than the actual film, unfortunately.

Agreed, I really noticed it throughout, this was someone who took the soundtrack VERY seriously.

"You'll be taking a soul train straight to a disco inferno where you never can say goodbye!"

i just realized the composer Cristobal Tapia de Veer also did the music for the show HUMANS (which i liked very much!). he's very talented!
