No, this is a drama that pulls "facts" and "events" from real life and re-crafts them into an entirely fictional premise. It feels real, and I suspect that's what the filmmakers intended.

I wouldn't think so. Usually they can't wait to market the hell out of that if it was a true story.

What's missing in movies is same as in society: a good sense of work ethic and living up to ideals.
